Originally from New Jersey, Pat has worked in the hospitality industry since he was 14. In 2011, he sought a change of pace and scenery and moved to Charleston, SC, to attend the College of Charleston. There, he studied Business and Hospitality but missed the restaurant world, so he jumped back in as a cook at Charleston restaurant, Basil.
In the summer of 2014, Pat joined The Park Cafe team as a server, but was quickly recruited to the kitchen where he stood out as a star line cook. He has grown as a chef and as a leader with the beloved neighborhood restaurant over the past three years. Chef Pat has had the opportunity to work with a variety of its popular dishes including the much-loved avocado toast and fried egg sandwich as well as more intricate dishes, such as the seasonal market fish and house-made pastas.
In addition to planning the Park Cafe’s seasonal menus, he works with Charleston’s farmers and purveyors to source the finest local and seasonal ingredients, so the menu remains consistent, fresh, and interesting. Family Meals, monthly family-style neighborhood suppers, give him the opportunity to mix things up with themed menus and bring back classic dinner dishes. He also enjoys recruiting eager kitchen staff and working to keep his team organized, inspired, and happy.
